drove a lot of my stuff down to san diego today. it felt REALLY good and liberating to be back. away from LA. away from just too many things. my apartment is pretty nice. i like it. and i don't have as much stuff as i thought i do! just brought down clothes in my closet that i pretty much don't wear, cuz all i wear are my stinkin' suits. yeah... i have a lot of clothes tho. gonna donate some stuff i know i won't wear anymore. i have a lot of shoes too. hehehehe. but those i like. must collect more! :D the cool part about the move today was meeting my next door neighbor. i was in and out of my apartment moving my stuff... when i saw two guys on motorcycles. full suits, boots, gloves, the whole shebang! turns out they ride too. it was awesome talking to them just about bikes and palomar and stuff. but i'll definitely have two riding buddies for sure... i mean... they're right next door! then i went to visit aileen cuz i couldn't reach caleb. he finally called and we hit up chipotle... cuz since its the leap day of the leap year... if you buy a burrito today, you can redeem a free one anytime during the next week with your receipt! talk about BAH-GIN! so the line... of course... was HOLYMOLEY long. cool thing was... bumped into helen and timmy. tim was excited i'm moving down! yay! that's one person! so we waited our half an hour... ate our lovely burritos... and i drove back to LA in an hour and a half. and here i am. oh yeah. clippers game on friday was A-W-E-S-O-M-E! they have the potential to be such a good team. xxx Thursday, February 26, 2004 my right pec is twitching... i think the muscles are atrophy-ing since i haven't worked them out this week yet... if i had time to work out every day... man... i'd be a riiiiiiiiiip mother. hopefully moving stuff down to san diego this weekend. we'll see. oh yeah? yeah. xxx Monday, February 23, 2004 motivation. life stage perspective. assistant management. being forced out of my comfort zone. discipline. trust in God's plan for my life. all of these i want. but all need to start with one thing... gratitude. for everything i do have, and for where God has me at this point, at this moment in my life. josh... what do you deserve? NOTHING. but i have already been given so much more... AWESOME. xxx Wednesday, February 18, 2004 hello! sorry its been a while since i've updated. last friday went to the rookie all-star game. it was pretty fun! it kind of sucked tho, cuz we were stuck in stupid LA traffic for an hour trying to get there. we ended up getting to the game just at the half, but it was still entertaining nonetheless! carmelo and lebron were pretty much throwing alley-oop passes to each other the entire night, and the last minute of the game simply turned into a dunk contest. it was fun, but not as much competition as the all-star game. the hour trip there was good tho... had a good talk with caleb. i like that we're brothers. after the game... hit up some korean food yo! i had a territory for work smack in koreatown. so i knew where the good soon-dubu and galbi was... it was damn good. then... it was the long drive home. man... those drives really take a lot outta ya. last time we went back up... i got sick. this time caleb got sick. it sucks man! we decided we're going to fly now whenever we're headed home. just so much less stressful and draining. saturday was sooooo fun. caleb, zoe and i went to the park to play. she's such a cutie! big girl now too. on the swing... she kept yelling, "higher! HIGHER!" haha. then we were also building sand castles. she's pretty stubborn. we were like, "zoe... you gotta dig deeper for the wet sand! to make the castles!" "no! i like dry sand." haha. she wouldn't share her bucket either. :\ she lost interest and went over to the slide... caleb and i took the only chance we had, grabbed the bucket, and started making structures with wet sand. zoe mooseys back... "hey zoe! look at our castles!" *takes her bucket back* "zoe... lets build some castles with dry sand" "no! imma use wet sand." lol - we're very influential uncles huh. :D sunday, went to great exchange church. MAN! saw so many random old faces. it was nice to see the familiar. saw evie, marcus, john lin, wilson, emily, JASON TONG-ta-TONG-TONG-TONG (yei), karen juan, old hayward churchers. if i were to move back to the bay... that's probably the church i'd go to. its a church plant by newsong from irvine. great great worship service. after church... way tired... but drove back home. i drove 100mph pretty much the whole way. 4 hour and 30 mins. whoo... record. work has been alright this week. finally made a decision. i'm moving to san diego in a month. here let me make it more obvious. i'm moving to san diego in a month! yep. bobby (boss) is moving the office down there... and there will be much more opportunity for me to grow my business down south as opposed to up here. plus, there's nothing really keeping me here anymore *sniff*... so back to good 'ol san d i go. anyone who's still in sd and reads my blog... look me up. some pics from the weekend:

MWAHAHA. um. or have some of my own. :D xxx Wednesday, February 04, 2004 i'm sick. been sick this whole week. dunno what it is. but all this time on the brain is making trusting God a lot harder... up and down we go... xxx Sunday, February 01, 2004 man! this week was definitely a good week. work was fulfilling... and i believe i can say that because i made a good amount of money this week. :) and its been fulfilling in many other aspects... especially looking in hindsight at how much personal growth this job has brought. i look at myself and i see... well... i see more of a man. you may laugh... but you better buhleeit. :D well, what i mean is that this job teaches so much discipline and responsibility and OWN-ness to oneself. meaning... you really have to step up to the plate and take all the hits that are thrown at you. it teaches having a good attitude throughout whatever situation... perserverance in trying to make it to the next promotion and to the next paycheck... it forces you to depend on others and not just on yourself, which also means you put others before yourself as well... but the good thing is all the others in the office do the same. i don't know... this job is such a challenge... but i've seen so many good things come out of it. so praise you God! for putting me where i need to be. man! today was definitely a good day! it started off with some ballin' at wooden. bobby (my boss), jeff, and justin showed up to play. doh. i'd just posted all of this but it just got erased. :| oh well! start all over! we had a pretty good game. game being singular since everyone seemed to leave the gym after we won. anyways there was good teamwork, good hustle. i played surprisingly well having not played in a long time. it was funny to see work people outside of the work envirionment tho. specifically... physical appearance. you know what i mean? well if you don't... what i mean is that all we see each other in are suits for the whole week, so when everyone's in workout clothes they definitely look different. bobby is dang skinny. he says he weighs a buck forty-five. i could bench press him! justin is so beefy... but as you scan down... you see these skinny-ass chicken legs. haha. i have a new nickname for him. BEEFY. and jeff's just this big football quarterback/bball forward that is agile for his size. and well... i'm just a lean mean atheletic machine. :D i tried to be all manly and stay afterwards to workout... but after 3 sets of dips... i was goin' home! man! the rest of the day was def... ahahahah. just kidding. oh my... but it definitely WAS a good rest of the day. (: it included a trip to the cost-a-maco for some foodage. dude... i spent $120. :\ but at least i'll have food to last me for at least another 3 weeks. woot. got some avocados, cereal, lunch-meat, instant curry packages from 99 ranch (these are the best), fruit, soy milk, and a bunch of other good stuff. then came the best part of my day - dinner and tv. AWESOME. i mean... tiiiiight. tight is the word of the day. you know how in pee-wee herman where they'd have the word of the day... and whenever someone said it everyone would go berserk and it would flash all over the tv screen? ahahaha. anyways... i had popped a lasagna in the oven... but then i decided to go get a movie. so i proceed to go to the bank to deposit my check and withdraw some monies to rent the movie with. i get to the ATM and i realize that i'd lost my ATM card a couple of days ago. duh josh. so i call vinh and ask him if i can borrow some money. being the good guy that he is... he says yes. so i head back to the apt, get the money, and head out the door. it was now 7:15. i was on a time crunch cuz the lasagna had to be out by 7:45! so i do some mad driving down to the video store, rent 'out of time' and 'all about ahlong' (dope chinese movie i saw loooong time ago... just want to re-watch it) and get back juuuuuust in time. 'out of time' was pretty decent... i recommend it. best part of the night tho... was after the movie. yosuke had his 8mm camera out... so i proceeded to pop in some tapes of my senior year in college. it being my last year... i think i wanted to document everything that i did. errrr... most of it at least. man... i was a nutjob back then. but i seemed very happy and always goofing off. i think people probably still have that impression of me. looking at myself now tho... i feel i'm an old geezer. i'm not as outspoke as i used to be or... um... flamboyant? haha. i think i need to bring that back. i think its stupid of me to let life struggles get me down. i'm gonna have more fun from now on. it was a good reminder fo sho! there was some TIIIITE footage of old buddies - dave, micah, jimmy, ben, jason, van, duc. there was also TIIITE footage of activities - birthday parties, intramural basketball games, intramural innertube waterpolo games, im bowling, crazy late-night dancing, etc. etc. ben chia... you were the star of my videos. haha! i even mentioned it DURING the video. TIIIIIGHT. whenever we meet up... be sure to remind me to show it to you. i'm happy. i'm glad to be alive. xxx |
