so if anyone has seen me for the past two months or so, you might have noticed some 'dirt' on my upperlip. some of you may or may not know, but i had a bet going on with caleb, a co-worker, and a friend. caleb felt i was so vain that i'd want to shave and trim the sucker in just a couple of weeks. little did he know bout my discipline and will-power. yes, its pretty strong. anyways, here are some parting shots of the mustache i grew to love. *sigh* so the $50 that i won will go towards paying off my bike, ohhhhh yes. ![]() yeah, someone obviously didn't like it ![]() farmer josh only has half a mustache to shave! xxx life is hard, huh. yeah, but i suppose it can only get better from here... xxx Wednesday, May 25, 2005 yes, new pony in the stable. had to go pick her up all the way in santa ana. transaction was quick, but prep time took a little bit. rode it back down keeping it under 6000rpms... which basically is 60-65mph in the far right lane, getting passed by huge semi's. :\ isn't she a thing of beauty??? (: ![]() OoooOooo yummy... low miles ![]() just born out of a crate ![]() i'm a gangsta dontcha know? xxx ![]() HAHA! xxx Tuesday, May 24, 2005 ![]() so caleb went home this past weekend... and i guess he kind of wanted photobooth pictures with the kids too. (: cute eh? zoe's got some GOOD expressions. she takes after her uncles! haha. maaaan... when i have a daughter one day, i hope she has dope uncles like zoe does. :D sorry for the bad glare. :( xxx Monday, May 23, 2005 so my friends over in la, in their fancy lil apartment, on butler ave., recently aquired a little puppy. being separated from its mom and sisters, and also alone most of the day, said puppy would cry all night long. this is the conversation that transpired: cykamanv: she's jes a baby is all cykamanv: i feel bad cuz she's alone for so much of the day 8-6 basically cykamanv: but i guess that's a dog's life mid97west: yeah mid97west: poor baby cykamanv: once she's potty trained she can run around mid97west: thats the thing, if you treat it like a human mid97west: you need to give it 100% attention 24-7 mid97west: yeah mid97west: wait til you have kids mid97west: haha cykamanv: i want kids tho...i didnt ask for a puppy cykamanv: i feel like a reluctant dad cykamanv: 'but i used a condom!' mid97west: LOL xxx Thursday, May 19, 2005 got this from a friends blog, speaks along the lines of what's going on with me. not what i'm dealing with personally per se, but yes, i think we all deal with it in some way or another. Life is full of internal conflicts. Conflicts brought by the trying to make the right decisions and make everyone happy, or doing/not doing things, because you're worried about how you'll be perceived. All of this leaves one person unhappy and thats you. Sometimes you just need to do things first and apologize later. xxx Monday, May 16, 2005 friggin' hilarity mang! ![]() also, you can find pics of my wonderful weekend at my jusspress. link is to your left my friend! :D xxx Wednesday, May 11, 2005 sold the r6 tonight. :( it was really weird. i didn't think that i had any emotional attachment to it... but when it finally came down to letting it go, i kept wanting to rev it, and couldn't imagine not seeing it... you know? its been with me through thick and thin, ups and downs, LA and SD... 2 years mang! its simliar to someone always being around, and then seeing them leave and know you're not going to see them for a while. kind of the same feeling. :\ good thing i kept it in the hypercycles family, so i'll still see her around. anyways... check back soon to see a new pony in the stable! :D ![]() i'm sad ![]() joel the new owner! ![]() trying to be demi moore ![]() lots of cash monies... and uh... my leg xxx ![]() hit up the gym tonight, saw this shirt, it made my night: "i *heart* girls that do curls." xxx Monday, May 09, 2005 went home this past weekend. it was the greatest! got in early friday morning, got picked up by the wong family and then hit up 'stacks', this pancake joint in downtown campbell. after that, moseyed on over to the children's exploratorium. FUN! then went home and took naps. it was jon and nia's anniversary so i watched the kids while they went out for a dinner date. meanwhile, zoe, ian and i had a dinner date of our own! we went to fresh choice at the great mall. both kids were surprisingly good. *pat pat* i got all these looks like i was a single dad of two or something. you may think that i would feel horrified by all those stares... but, i actually wished they were my kids! (: a lady sitting next to us even said, "wow, you have beautiful kids!" and i had to politely say, "they're actually my sister's, they're my niece and nephew." haha :D then we walked around the mall, looked at some fountains, took some photo booth pictures (photo1, photo2), got some ballons, and bought some pastries for breakfast the next day. all in all, a grand time! saturday, went to pick up mom and dad to go to filoli. we wanted this to be our mother's day as sunday would have been packed. my goodness, the garden was beautiful... and on top of that, there was a special flower exhibit. check out the pictures. (: my favorite was the floral wedding gazebo and arrangements. i don't think there would be any bride-to-be who wouldn't like that! then it was yummy lunch in millbrae, then just hung out at mom and dad's place. got mom a massage/spa package... hope you enjoy it mom! happy mother's day! i love you! sunday, i slept in. cleaned up nia's house as her mother's day present. you should see their place! (no offense jieh, if you're reading this, heh) you would definitely know that they had a couple of kids. :D then met up with mom and dad for mother's day dinner. during dinner, this was how one conversation with zoe went: me: "zoe, are you going to miss me?" zoe: "nope." me: "but i'm going to miss you..." zoe: "i know, but i'm not going to miss you." me: "i love you, so i'm going to miss you." zoe: "i love you too, but i'm not going to miss you." (: this was my favorite moment of the trip. as we rounded the corner to the airport drop-off, nia said, "zoe, jo-jo's going back to san diego now." *zoe is quiet* "are you sad?" zoe looks back and she is all teary-eyed. :( nia was crying, i was crying, and now i'm home away from my family again. *sigh* all good, i shall visit once more in a month or two. :D these were my favorite pictures of the bunch, the rest, along with some video clips, are at http://www.jusspress.com/jschiu ![]() xxx Friday, May 06, 2005 so you wait all through the night until today wait for the illusion of the perfect song I wish the best of everything for you hope you know that honestly I do how long can you run turn your back on everyone just let me know when you're tired of being alone xxx Wednesday, May 04, 2005 some pictures from this past weekend at buttonwillow track day! click to enlarge! enjoy! :D ![]() xxx Tuesday, May 03, 2005 japan in september? anyone want to go? i need a travel buddy... $899 roundtrip airfare plus 5 nights stay at the hilton in downtown tokyo. roundtrip flights alone are $700 something! plus this is on singapore airlines! talk about cush! email or comment me. tiight. xxx Monday, May 02, 2005 Dear Joshua, Thank you very much for everything... the gift card will be very useful. We are in the process of doing some improvements in the kitchen like putting in new flooring, new gas range and maybe painting the walls too. And during my spare time, I definitely will read "The Notebook." You are so thoughtful and generous and hard working that I know you will be successful in whatever you do. Once again, thank you and take care. - Teresita p.s. I was in CA 4/7-4/14 one of my borrowers wrote me a thank you card today. it made my day, so i thought i'd share it with you. :D i had mailed her the book after she told me about how much she liked the movie, and how she cried when she watched it. she wanted to meet up for lunch when she came out to california to visit her brother, but she didn't have time.
